Native American Cultural Engagement Course

Posted: December 1, 2014

"Exploring Indigenous Ways in the Great Lakes Region," CED 497 C&D, is a two-part course in Spring 2015 and Maymester travel.

The spring course will provide graduate and undergraduate students with a basis for understanding the culture they will be immersed in for the Maymester experience among one of the largest American Indian tribes today, the Ojibwe in the Great Lakes region.

  • Why: Because you may never have another opportunity to experience a Native American culture in this way. This is truly a unique experience.
  • What: Course and field experience with Ojibwe in the Great Lakes Region
  • When: Spring semester (course) and May 10-26 (travel)
  • Cost: The spring course is free if you add it to your Spring schedule. The Maymester trip costs $545 + meals -- and you must enroll for at least .5 credit (this is relatively inexpensive).
