Have you ever wanted to grow mushrooms?

Have you ever wanted to grow mushrooms but thought that it seemed too complicated? In this course you will learn how to grow a variety of different mushrooms utilizing different techniques. During lectures we will discuss the nutritional requirements and environmental conditions necessary for the production of a variety of different mushrooms. Laboratories will be hands-on and take place at the Mushroom Research Center (MRC) where you will be involved with all aspects of growing mushrooms. We will learn both commercial techniques as well as “backyard” production methods to grow exotic species such as shiitake and oyster mushrooms.
