Corporate Sponsorship to the Agriculture Future of America (AFA) Leaders Conference

Posted: August 30, 2013

Another great leadership development opportunity! Apply for a corporate sponsorship to attend the Agriculture Future of America (AFA) Leaders Conference on November 7-10, 2013, in Kansas City, Missouri.

The corporate sponsorship includes conference registration, lodging, and all meals. The Office for Undergraduate Education will offer a limited number of travel grants to attend the conference for anyone who receives a corporate sponsor.

The AFA Leaders Conference provides support for college men and women who are preparing for careers in agriculture-related fields, while at the same time supporting the development of human capital for the agriculture and food industry. Leaders Conference bridges the gap between academic, leadership and work experiences while helping students understand the impact of their decisions. The conference also assists students in developing personal and professional skills necessary for lifelong success and provides a forum for updates and discussions on industry trends. Students are given the opportunity to network with peers and leaders in the agriculture industry as well as increase their excitement about the future of agriculture by creating awareness about career opportunities in agriculture.

Feedback from our program participants from last year was extremely positive!

For additional information and application procedures, refer to the Agriculture Future of America website and select the Leaders Conference Tab.

Deadline to apply (directly at AFA website) is September 6.  Applicants will be notified by AFA by September 20.  If selected to receive a corporate sponsorship you are encouraged to apply to the Office for Undergraduate Education for a travel grant to attend.

Procedure to apply for travel grant is as follows:  Submit your resume, along with a cover letter, stating your interest in attending AFA and what you hope to gain, to Richard J. Rateau, 110 Ag Administration Building, by 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2013.
