Biomedical Sciences Club Undergraduate Conference

On Saturday, March 23rd, the Penn State Biomedical Sciences Club will hold its 4th annual undergraduate conference. The

This all-day event will feature six prominent biomedical scientists, including one veterinarian and two physicians, from institutions such as the National Institutes of Health, Penn State Hershey Medical Center, and the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Research topics include:

•    Antimicrobial drug resistance

•    Epidemiology of foodborne illness

•    Leukemia

•    Host-pathogen interactions in respiratory disease

•    Renal replacement therapy

Dr. Richard Fairhurst, Director of the Malaria Pathogenesis and Human Immunity Unit at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, will be the keynote speaker.

The location of the conference is at the Huck Institute of the Life Sciences Bridge, The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA.   Registration is $10 for Penn State students, which covers entry to the conference and the cost of breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
