The purpose of this award is to recognize graduate students in the College of Agricultural Sciences whose studies are associated with Penn State Extension and focus on production agriculture or applied agricultural field research.

Eligibility

This scholarship is open to all graduate students in good academic standing in the College of Agricutlural Sciences at Penn State, regardless of enrollment status (full- or part-time).  First preference will be given to Penn State Extension employees.

 

Scholarship Amount

Up to $10,000

 

Selection Process

  • An award committee will be appointed by the Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Education to select the recipient(s).
  • Awarding of this scholarship will be based on academic excellence and thus, the nominee's academic records may be reviewed as criteria for selection.

 

Guidelines

  • Letter of nomination from the department head, including a summary statement of the relevance and importance of the contributions made by the nominee on Penn State extension and production agriculture or applied agricultural field research.
  • This scholarship will be awarded for the Spring 2020 semester. Recipient(s) of the Spring 2020 award can apply for the award offered in the 2020/2021 academic year. Awards may not exceed the span of two academic years.
  • First preference will be given to Penn State Extension employees. If the first preference cannot be met, available funds will be awarded to any student, regardless of preference.
  • Individuals nominating should send a pdf to the Office of Research and Graduate Education (graded@psu.edu), by 5:00PM Friday, February 14, 2020.
