Engaged scholarship that connects learning with real-world impact.
SAFES partners with faculty to create engaged scholarship and experiential learning opportunities that bring teaching, research, and extension together through meaningful community collaboration. Through initiatives like the Engaged Scholarship and Experiential Learning Seed Grant Program, faculty design hands-on projects that connect students with external partners and stakeholders—allowing them to apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges.
These experiences empower students to develop practical skills while contributing to solutions that matter and have tangible impacts. By fostering partnerships and supporting innovative course-based projects, SAFES helps prepare the next generation of agricultural and environmental leaders—equipping them to make an immediate and lasting impact in their communities and beyond.
