Outstanding Alumni Award and Armsby Honor Society Ceremony

The College honored two outstanding alumni, both of whom were inducted into the Armsby Honor Society along with five alumni, on October 25th. Selected as outstanding alumni, Dr. Kira Bowen and Dr. Bruce Bugbee who distinguished themselves through their professional accomplishments, their scholarship, and their service. Dr. Ted Katsigianis and Mr. Joel Krall were also inducted into the Armsby Honor Society as past award recipients. Armsby inductees are generous with their time, their talent, and their treasure, often supporting the college in all three ways while also leading exemplary lives in their own professions and communities. Armsby Honor Society Inductees not able to attend the ceremony include Mr. Eric Cowden, Mr. Barry Flinchbaugh, and Dr. Fred Metzger.
Celebrate Agriculture Day

College of Agricultural Sciences alumni and 4H friends kicked-off the Penn State vs. Indiana Celebrate Ag Day by holding the American Flag during the singing of the National Anthem.
Career Workshop Photos

Alumni and industry professionals shared valuable knowledge and expert advice on resume building and networking. The goal of the Ag Alumni Society hosted Career Workshop is to prepare students for Career Day. Students had the opportunity to attend a Resume Review Session, a presentation titled "The Art of Networking", and a heavy hors d'oeuvres Networking Reception.
2017 Ag Alumni Society Elections Announced

Penn State Equine Program Alumni
April 29, 2017
Alumni interested in starting a Penn State Equine Program Alumni Group started a facebook page collecting over 250 followers and held their first meeting at the Penn State Quarter Horse Sale on April 29, 2017. They also raised $1,600 for the Ward Studebaker Endowment in 10 days that was presented at the sale.
2017 Ag & History Tour

A one-day motor coach trip sponsored by the Ag Alumni Society and the Pasto Agricultural Museum to the Mercer Museum, The Fonthill Mansion, and the Moravian Pottery and Tile Works. The Museum is a collection of over 40,000 objects documenting the lives of and tasks of everyday life in America during the 18th and 19th centuries constructed by Henry Mercer. The Fonthill Mansion is the home of Henry Mercer, an archeologist and tile maker.
2017 Senior Sendoff

Thousands of soon-to-be Penn State graduates attended the Senior Sendoff at the Hintz Family Alumni Center. Dozens of students from the College of Ag Sciences stopped by the Ag Alumni Society table to learn more about the society, pick-up their complimentary gift, and sign-up for the student gift bag door prize hosted by the Ag Alumni Society.

Nine College of Agricultural Sciences alumni and one friend of the college were inducted into the Armsby Honor Society at the annual dinner and ceremony held on Monday, November 7 at the Nittany Lion Inn. The Society was created to honor alumni and friends who have demonstrated a commitment to the College of Agricultural Sciences, and to foster their continuing involvement with the college and its alumni.
2016 Outstanding Alumni Award Reception

Four alumni were recognized for their achievements with the College Outstanding Alumni Award. Named Outstanding Alumni were David Dell of Indiana; Barry Flinchbaugh of Kansas; and Fred Metzger of State College, Pa. Joel Krall, of South Lebanon, Pa., was named Outstanding Recent Alumnus, an award that honors alumni who have graduated in the last 10 years.

College of Agricultural Sciences alumnus, Ted Katsigianis '75g, '79 Ph.D. Animal Sciences was recognized with the lifelong title of Alumni Fellow, the highest award given by the Alumni Association. He is the vice president of agricultural sciences for The Biltmore Company.

College of Agricultural Sciences alumni and students marched in the 2016 Homecoming Parade. Dean Roush and Robyn along with their guests the University President, Eric Barron and Molly, the President of the National Farm Bureau, Zippy Duvall and Bonnie, the President of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, Rick Ebert and Diane, and Pennsylvania Dairy Princess, Halee Wasson rode in a wagon pulled by a Percheron six-hitch.
