The Role of Animal Power in 19th and 20th Century Agriculture

During Ag Progress Days 2000 the Pasto Agricultural Museum's theme was " The Role of Animal Power in 19th- and 20th-Century Agriculture." At least twenty-five animal powered items were exhibited outdoors. The 1905 O.K. horse powered stationary hay press, first exhibited last year after complete restoration, was demonstrated with horses and hay. We even threshed grain with an 1870s horse treadle power and 1870s grain thresher. Also a wonderful 1920 horse-drawn manure spreader, McCormick-Deering rope hay loader, and a Yellow Jacket horse-drawn potato sprayer - all donated and cleaned this past winter - were exhibited.

The following photographs are a few of the fine examples of this unique exhibit.
