UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Warmer weather in the forecast means ice cream season is approaching swiftly — along with the chance to vote for your favorite Penn State Berkey Creamery ice cream flavor in this year’s Flavor Madness competition.
Sixteen flavors will compete once again to become this year's champion in the online tournament, which begins today, March 18, and will run for four weeks. Voting opens at 10 a.m. each Monday and closes at noon each Friday.
“You know spring is here at Penn State when the Creamery Flavor Madness rolls out and we start giving away ice cream!” said James Brown, assistant manager at the creamery.
Voting will take place on the creamery’s website, and participants are encouraged to share their picks on social media by using #PSUFlavorMadness and be entered for a chance to win ice cream. The Scoop Champion will be announced April 12, followed by a sale on the winning flavor from April 15 to 19.
Ice cream fans can choose their favorite flavors each week and can submit votes in each matchup, starting with the Berkey Creamery “Sweet 16.”
Participants will receive discount codes for the creamery’s online shop, and those within the 48 continental U.S. states will be entered automatically in a drawing for six free pints of Berkey Creamery ice cream, with a new winner chosen every week. Winners will be selected at random from the pool of each week’s players with a valid email address.

Participants must reenter each week to be eligible for that week’s prize. Winners will be contacted by email and must respond within seven business days to claim their prize. Winners will receive six pints of ice cream.
