The College of Agricultural Sciences' Ag Advocates student group has won a national award for organizing and sponsoring an ag-literacy event on campus last year.

The Ag Advocates won the Excellence in Literacy and Communications Award at the 2010 National Ag Ambassador Conference at the University of California-Davis. The annual event is a leadership conference for college students serving as ambassadors for their agricultural programs.

As award winners, the students presented a workshop titled “Spreading the Word: A Workshop on Agricultural Literacy” to other conference participants.
