Golf course managers have much more insight into which fungicides to use to suppress turfgrass diseases thanks to a study led by John Kaminski, professor of turfgrass science, and published in International Turfgrass Society Research Journal.
Researchers evaluated the variation in turfgrass injury caused by nine commercially available demethylation-inhibitor fungicides.
Study first author Maureen Kahiu, a former golf course superintendent, applied the fungicides and collected and analyzed turfgrass samples. She earned her master's degree with this research project.
