Container gardening can give you fresh herbs, such as parsley, rosemary, tarragon, and basil, at your fingertips.
Here are some tips for a successful container herb garden:
- Use soilless potting mixes.
- Check soil frequently to see if the plants need water.
- Position the container so it will receive at least six hours of direct sunlight.
- Rotate your containers every few days to ensure the entire plant receives light.
- Do not harvest more than one-third of your plant at one time.
- Use 1 inch of mulch on top of the soil to help conserve moisture.
