Ag Business Springboard Competition

This fall students will have the chance to win $5,000 by competing in the Ag Business Springboard Competition—part of the college’s entrepreneurship initiative.
springboardSpringboard is a business plan presentation competition open to all students at Penn State. Teams of two to five students (at least one must be enrolled in the college) will develop and pitch a business plan addressing a need in the agricultural sciences.

The plans will address issues such as competitive due diligence, marketing, financial projections, and other aspects to make a compelling argument for their business idea.

Teams registered in early September, with initial plans due in early November. Judges will choose groups to move forward to the final presentation stage. Those teams will present their plans on November 14, with the winner announced at an awards banquet at The Nittany Lion Inn later that day.

The event is sponsored by Earl and Kay Harbaugh, whose generous support also is used to fund a variety of entrepreneurial activities at Penn State.
