Ag IT Recruiting Class – 2014

Posted: October 23, 2014

Penn State stays at the forefront of athletic achievement by scouting for and recruiting new team members. The same is true in Ag IT!

With a great deal of pleasure we’d like to introduce you to four new staff members that have recently joined our team.  We are especially grateful to the Dean’s Office for allowing us to fill these positions.

Our Network and Infrastructure Team is pleased to welcome Scott Fura as a Systems Administrator.  Scott comes to us after five years in private industry working for First Quality in several of their Pennsylvania plant locations.  Scott is a Centre County native and if his name seems familiar it is because Scott was a student employee of ours working part time with the Support Team several years ago.

Joining the Support Team after a ten-year stint in K-12 IT Support is Preston Goss.  Preston is a Mifflin County native and spent several years working with the Tuscarora Intermediate Unit in Mifflin County.  Following his IU position he more recently provided IT support to the Juniata County School District.

Ken Woll has moved across campus to Ag Hill from Penn State’s College of Liberal Arts to join our Support Team.  Previous to his appointment in Liberal Arts, Ken was Customer Service Engineer with Unisys Corporation.  Ken brings an interest and background in both Dell and Apple hardware.

Josh Weist has joined our Support Team after five years as an IT Specialist for the Allegany College of Maryland.   Like many of you are (or have been), Josh is a full-time employee who is also pursuing a Master’s degree in his spare time.

Our team is strengthened by these new recruits – seasoned professionals bringing new ideas and new perspectives.  As you first have an opportunity to work with Preston, Ken, Scott and Josh, please welcome them to the College of Ag Sciences.
