OIP Announces Symposium on Gender, Agriculture, and the Environment

Posted: April 21, 2016

We are excited to announce a new program at Penn State University -- the Gender, Agricultural, and Environment Initiative (GAEI) -- that aims to enhance scholarship at the intersections of gender, agriculture and the environment.

The inaugural GAEI Symposium will be held at the Nittany Lion Inn, on June 5th, 6th, and 7th, and will incorporate principle ideas surrounding gender, in addition to other paramount themes like climate change, food security, and sustainable intensification. This is an exciting development in learning about gender, which will include roundtable discussion sessions on the CGIAR system, conversations regarding the topics listed above, and a group of presenters who will share their work. We encourage you to attend this new expansion of the university’s study on gender; to learn more please contact Ruth Mendum at
