Jose De La Torre Endowment Opportunity for Graduate Students from Latin America

Posted: May 7, 2013

Nominations are sought for 2013-2014 academic year and will be accepted until 5 PM EST on June 1, 2013.

Thanks to the generosity of Dr. Jose de La Torre, the College is able to make a $2,000 award available to a graduate student from Latin America for the coming academic year (2013-2014).  In return, the student is asked to help the Office of International Programs with a project to advance our links in the hemisphere.

Nominations for this award are due June 1, 2013.  Nominations should come from faculty advisors and should include information about the student:

--student’s country of origin;
--student’s background and achievements to date;
--student’s degree program and academic interests;
--student’s international experience and future plans.

Students can either be currently enrolled or incoming graduate students on assistantship in the College of Agricultural Sciences.  Selection will be made by a subcommittee of the International Programs Advisory Council.  Depending on quality of applicants, either one or two awards will be made this year.
