PLEASE NOTE: During the part-time employee healthcare open enrollment period held in November and December 2014, it was communicated that due to this healthcare plan closing there would be no future open enrollment periods held. Future changes to your part-time employee healthcare plan will only be granted in the event of a qualifying life status change (e.g. marriage, divorce, birth of a child, adoption of a child, loss of coverage, etc.).*** EMPLOYEE HEALTH CARE BENEFIT: Please refer to for information regarding the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA).*** RETIREMENT BENEFIT: A part-time employee becomes eligible for retirement benefits after having one continuous year of service, working at least 750 hours for that year. The Central Human Resources Benefits Office tracks when individuals are eligible. When we are notified that an individual is eligible, our office will send the employee a letter stating their eligibility along with a retirement plan selection form. Employees can choose to enroll in the Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association (TIAA-CREF) or the State Employees Retirement System (SERS). Please refer to for any changes or updates in this policy.
