Graduate Students: Win $10,000 for YOUR Sustainability Idea!

This year Penn State is again participating in the Dow Sustainability Innovation Challenge Award (SISCA). The competition recognizes graduate students and universities for innovations in the advancements of a more sustainable world.

Winners are selected and awarded for original and holistic thinking, excellence in research, potential to make significant improvements to society, and strong interdisciplinary work. Winners clearly communicate their concepts through processes, services, policies, technologies, products, and more.

Judges place importance on continued commitment and progress towards the established goal of the project.

The top team will win a monetary prize of $10,000 (a runner-up team will be awarded $2,500). Additionally, winners have the opportunity to network with SISCA alumni, past award winners at Penn State, as well as other global sustainability leaders and peers.

To be eligible to participate in the competition, applicants must be Penn State graduate students that register with an interdisciplinary team

Entry submissions will be accepted online and are due by 11:59 PM on September 30, 2013. To apply, visit
