The Young Grower Alliance (YGA) took a tour out to Boyertown on a rainy Wednesday, May 16. The roughly 30 attendees met at Frecon Farms, and Steve Frecon talked about their cider production and their young block of trellised pears. He discussed marketing their cider and how it was important to have the sections of his business work together but also allowing each of them to function somewhat independently.

Afterwards, everyone took a quick walk down the road to Keim Orchards for lunch. Ben Keim then discussed top-working trees and why that is an important part of his toolbox as a grower. Once again, a special thanks to Frecon Farms and Keim Orchards for hosting this event, and thanks to everyone who attended making the tour a success!
