Shakira Nelson, a PhD student in Pathobiology, has been accepted into the National Cancer Institute’s Cancer Prevention Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program (CPFP).

This Fellowship Program provides training for individuals from the health professions, biomedical, and behavioral sciences to become leaders in the field of cancer prevention and control. The program includes:

  • support for a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree
  • participation in the NCI Summer Curriculum in Cancer Prevention
  • Mentored research opportunities at the NCI or the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
  • Professional development and leadership training
