I chose Penn State and the College of Agricultural Sciences because I knew I would have options. Some of the best experiences I have had were ones that gave me insight into which careers or experiences I did not want to have long-term. At Penn State, I knew if my interested changed there would still be meaningful experiences for me. Similarly, I have also been able to customize my major my selecting courses that are most relevant to my interests and career goals, there is a lot of flexibility in the College of Agricultural Sciences.
Favorite Penn State Activity:
Going to National FFA Convention with my fellow Ag Advocates, Being the Penn State Dairy Princess at Meet A Farm Animal Day and having first graders ask if I was a real-life princess.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
An Agricultural Educator – either in a high school or working for a nonprofit
Proudest Achievement in life so far:
Hiking to the base of the Towers in Torres Del Paine Chilean National Park while studying abroad with ERM 499. A 15-mile, 12-hour hike! I learned so much about myself while simultaneously presented with pure exhaustion and the awe of breathtaking views of nature.
Hobbies:
Cooking and Baking – I do all my mom's Christmas cookies, kayaking and hiking – it is my goal to visit all National Parks and PA State Parks
If you could be an animal, what would you be and why?
I would be an alpaca because of the curly nature of their hair they are hypoallergenic. And I am allergic to everything, but if I were an alpaca at least I wouldn't be allergic to myself!
Dream Vacation Spot:
Maine/Nova Scotia – I would love to do a whale watching tour in that area.
