Donna K. Scherer

Donna is the Client Relationship Manager (CRM) for Area 8, which includes Franklin, Adams, York, Cumberland, Perry, and Dauphin counties. Donna most recently held the dual position of Penn State Extension Master Gardener Coordinator and Mosquito-Borne Disease Control Coordinator in Franklin County. A native of Chambersburg, Donna graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Kindergarten Education/Communication. Her husband’s career in the military took them to multiple locations around the world where she held a wide variety of positions including early childhood educator, garden center manager and private tutor for children with learning disabilities. She was pleased to return to her roots in 2014 when she began her employment with Penn State Extension. In her dual role, she enjoyed providing the community with educational opportunities and working with township and county officials to pursue outreach opportunities.

She and her husband, John, also a PSU graduate, have two sons. Jacob graduated from Penn State University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, while Andrew just finished his freshmen year at Penn State, Mont Alto to continue the family tradition. In her free time, she enjoys working in her garden and relaxing by the lake.
