Hello! My name is Amanda Grube and I am a junior majoring in Plant Science (Agroecology Option) minoring in Plant Pathology and Agronomy as well as Ag Stewardship and Conservation. I am very excited to join the Agriculture and Environment Center team because it combines my interests and background in production agriculture with conservation practices, particularly concerning farms and farmers in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. Growing up on a farm in Lancaster County I understand the complexity of non-point agricultural pollution issues when it comes to the obstacles that farmers face in managing these problems. I am excited to talk to producers in the community I grew up in to try and navigate the often complex legislation and regulations. I believe that communicating one on one with farmers is the best way to encourage cooperation as well as understanding surrounding agricultural stewardship and conservation. I am extremely happy to be working for an organization that encourages and carries out this type of work in order to promote a brighter future for agriculture and environmental relationships.
