Lori Connelly, formally the manager of member relations and leadership for Land O' Lakes Inc., joined the College of Agricultural Sciences as assistant director for the newly established Agricultural Resource Centers, effective November 18, 2013.

The Agricultural Resource Centers are a collaborative effort between the college and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. The three centers are designed to leverage Penn State and PDA resources; to act as a clearinghouse for information and expertise; and to focus research, extension and regulatory programs on issues of critical importance related to food safety, animal care and plant health.

As assistant director, Lori will provide administrative support to the executive board, center directors, center committees, and center teams and will work with College Relations and Communications to maintain effective internal and external relationships and communications.

Lori is an alumna of the college, earning a bachelor's degree in Animal Sciences in 2003 and a master's degree in Agricultural and Extension Education in 2005. Before joining Land O' Lakes in 2009, she was director of communications for PennAg Industries Association for four years.

Lori was appointed by Gov. Tom Corbett to the Pennsylvania Dairy Leadership Council. She received the Joan McLane Recent Alumna Award from the Penn State Alumni Association in 2013 and was named a College of Agricultural Sciences Outstanding Recent Alumna in 2009. She was inducted into the Penn State Armsby Honor Society in 2010 and into the Gamma Sigma Delta Honor Society of Agriculture in 2005.
