The University Brand Review (UBR) process ensures that all Penn State materials—print and digital—align with the University’s brand, editorial, and accessibility standards. Managed by the Office of Strategic Communications and implemented locally by the College of Agricultural Sciences Marketing unit, UBR reviews protect and elevate the Penn State Extension and University brands by ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance.

All marketing and educational materials developed for external audiences must go through the Marketing unit for creation or review or use a Marketing unit–approved process for template population. The Marketing unit manages the design, writing, and production of materials to maintain brand integrity, editorial accuracy, and accessibility compliance. Materials that meet these standards are automatically assigned a unique UBR number verifying approval and University compliance.

This process ensures that every piece representing extension—from flyers and brochures to event materials and publications—reflects the professionalism, credibility, and trusted reputation of the University.
