Ice Cream

The photography for the Penn State Berkey Creamery highlights the texture and ingredients of each ice cream flavor. The current image assets are of each scoop at an overhead angle on a transparent background.

Packaging

In the pint packaging template, there are two boxes, one on either side of the seal. The scoop image should be placed in both of these boxes and then shifted so that there is minimal repetition in the two images and the ice cream texture fills the box completely. When enlarging the photo inside of the box, make sure that the effective ppi remains above 300.

To check an image's effective ppi, click on the image in the InDesign template and go to Window > Info.

Actual PPI is the resolution of the image at 100% size. The scoop image assets are all 300 ppi at actual size.

Effective PPI is the resolution of the image at the size it's been scaled to in InDesign. If this number becomes less than 300, it means that the image has been scaled larger than its actual size, and can potentially print low quality or pixelated.
