This tour and demonstration seeks to highlight how to keep your well water safe for your family and your livestock. Meeting at the entrance of the Harrington Building, join the Penn State Water Resources Team to tour the Wellhead demonstration areas.
Private wells are not managed or protected by the state government in Pennsylvania. It's up to the homeowner to know how to keep harmful pollutants out of your drinking water and to know how to get your water tested. Join water experts from Penn State Extension (also visit the team at Booth J411) on a 30 minute demonstration and walking tour of three wellheads around the J.D. Harrington Bldg. We will discuss proper wellhead inspection, sanitary well cap use, and setting up a zone of protection around your well.
Walking tour departs at the J.D. Harrington Building Main entrance daily at 10:00 a.m. and program will conclude within 30 minutes.
*Walking/Standing involved. Restrooms are nearby on the show grounds.
