Posted: August 3, 2015

The first PA Beef Producers' Beef Day event will take place at Ag Progress Days on Wednesday, August 19 featuring speaker sessions and beef buck coupons for attendees.

The educational sessions will be held at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. in the College Exhibits Building on the show grounds.

Jim Hogue of Agri-Basics, Inc. will discuss how to feed Holstein calves for the beef market. John Tyson, Penn State agriculture engineer, will share information on converting dairy facilities to beef facilities. Session attendees will receive one $5 "Beef Bucks" coupon, per family, redeemable only at the Pennsylvania Cattlemen’s Association food stand at Ag Progress Days.

“We’re excited to offer this additional learning opportunity,” said Chet Hughes, Penn State Extension program leader. “With three session times on Aug. 19, we hope producers can join us and enjoy a beef sandwich after the program.”
