Return to Penn State and create memories that will last a lifetime. Registration is now open for We Are Weekend, the Alumni Association’s premier summer event set for June 1–3, 2018. Tours highlighting the college include the Pasto Agricultural Museum Tour, Arboretum Tours, and the Beaver Stadium Tour (stadium field).

The Ag Alumni Society congratulates and welcomes the 2017 December graduates into the Ag Alumni Society family. Graduates were invited to a Senior Sendoff in the Ag Administration Building and were presented with a graduation gift from the Ag Alumni Society. They also had a great time taking pictures with the Nittany Lion and Old Main backdrop as well as signs with their majors.

As the College of Agricultural Sciences Alumni Society celebrates 50 years, the current board of directors would like to thank the Presidents of the society for their leadership. From 1967 to 2017, the society has been led by 30 dedicated and committed alumni volunteers.

Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences has inducted seven alumni into the Armsby Honors Society. The society was created to honor individuals whose service, scholarship, teaching and philanthropy have demonstrated a profound commitment to the college. It is intended to recognize and encourage members’ continuing involvement in both the college and the alumni society.

With help from sponsors, alumni, and friends during the 2017 Ag Live Tailgate, the College of Ag Sciences Alumni Society raised $39,185. This enables the society to surpass their $200,000 Trustee Endowed Scholarship pledge two years early.

On November 18, more than 450 alumni, friends, and students celebrated prior to the Penn State football game at the Ag Live Tailgate held at the Snider Agricultural Arena.

On Nov. 10, the Penn State Board of Trustees selected eight Penn State alumni to receive the Distinguished Alumni Award, the University's highest honor presented to its alumni. The following individuals have been officially notified of their selection by the Board and are invited to accept the award from the University in June 2018.

Ten Penn State students have been selected as College of Agricultural Sciences Alumni Society 2017 Internship Award winners. The award, which includes a $1,000 stipend, was established to encourage students to participate in a credit or noncredit educational internship program that relates to their field of study.

Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences has named Kira Bowen, professor of plant pathology at Auburn University, and Bruce Bugbee, professor of environmental plant physiology at Utah State University, as 2017 Outstanding Alumni. This award is the highest given by the college and recognizes high-achieving alumni with notable professional accomplishments who bring distinction to themselves, the college and the University.

Mannaa, a native of Egypt, described his dream to attend Penn State, a journey that began when he stepped off a plane at University Park Airport on a frigid day in January 2005 and continues today as he pursues a goal of earning a medical doctorate.

Wayne Martenas '74 Ag Eng, a very active volunteer leader and philanthropic supporter of the College of Agricultural Sciences and Penn State Extension, along with his wife, Marian McKeegan Martenas, have pledged $250,000 in current and future gifts through their estate, to be divided among a new endowment, an existing endowment, a new building and an existing scholarship fund.

The goal of the Ag Alumni Society hosted Career Workshop is to prepare students for Career Day. Students had the opportunity to attend a Resume Review Session, a presentation titled "The Art of Networking", and a heavy hors d'oeuvres Networking Reception.
