Tackle Hunger Food Drive to Support Penn State Students

Posted: November 10, 2014

Bring your donations to Ag Live on November 29 and help us Tackle Hunger at Ag Live by packing the Penn State Puller's tractor. Our goal is to collect 500 pounds of donated items. All Tackle Hunger food donations benefit Penn State's Lion's Pantry.

Lion's Pantry is a student run organization created to address the issue of student hunger at Penn State. Their purpose is to help provide sustenance to Penn State's low-income students by providing goods donated from the community and corporate partners.

The need for a university food pantry has been realized through stories from students, community members, and nation-wide statistics showing the growth of food insecurity for college-aged adults.

The Ag Alumni Society would like to offer a special thank you to the Penn State Pullers for letting us use one of their tractors to collect the food donations. Look for them at the Snider Ag Arena!

The Penn State Pullers is a competitive 1/4-scale tractor team focused on the design and construction of a 1/4-scale pulling tractor which is entered in an annual industry-supported national competition held in Illinois. For more information visit the Penn State Pullers website.
