The Lycoming County Experience

TMDLS, Farms, Wastewater Treatment Plants and Innovations in Environmental Markets.

Lycoming County has embarked on a fascinating approach to engaging its sectors in improved nutrient management and infrastructure initiatives – an approach that brings together its agricultural producers, wastewater treatment operations, and the people who are vested in shared environmental stewardship.  Marel Raub (Chesapeake Bay Commission) provides the framework for the Bay TMDL and the essential value of innovative partnerships – like the Lycoming County approach.  Megan Lehman (Lycoming County Planning) presented the details and early successes of this unique government-farm-wastewater treatment plant- community approach to environmental stewardship.
