With harvest time coming to a close, it is a great time to attend a Penn State Extension workshop.

Extension is offering workshops on many aspects of conservation in agriculture across the Commonwealth between now and the end of the year. Workshops on soil health and no till are offered in several locations across Pennsylvania.

A series of soil health workshops are being offered by Penn State and USDA NRCS soil health specialists in December. At these workshops an overview of the basics of soil health and how to evaluate it will be provided. Attendees will receive a copy of the new publication ‘Soil Health in Field and Forage Crop Production’, and be able to observe a live demonstration of the effects of poor and good management on soil health. Workshops are offered in York, Sullivan, Potter, Dauphin and Blair Counties. Learn more and RVSP.

In collaboration with the PA No-Till Alliance, Penn State Extension is also offering "Successful No-Till: Strategies to Build Soils and High Yields" in Lancaster on December 16, from 9AM to 12PM. Participants will hear from experienced no-till farmers, extension educators and industry professionals. Details and registration information.
