This strategic plan charts an ambitious yet achievable path for the College of Agricultural Sciences to advance Pennsylvania's agricultural and natural resource management future while contributing to Penn State's trajectory as a top-tier research university and land-grant institution. Success requires focused investment in our most strategic priorities, rigorous accountability for outcomes, and collective commitment across our faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders. It will require us to stop or reduce work in some areas.
Over the next five years, we will concentrate resources where they generate the greatest impact: transformative student experiences in working landscapes, interdisciplinary research addressing grand challenges, signature Extension programs delivering measurable community benefit, inclusive pathways diversifying agricultural talent, and operational excellence supporting mission priorities.
We invite our entire College community—and our partners across Pennsylvania and beyond—to join us in realizing this vision. Together, we will ensure Penn State Agricultural Sciences remains the trusted leader in advancing sustainable food systems, thriving rural communities, and environmental stewardship for generations to come.
