Local Food Wanted for Blair County Event

Posted: April 11, 2017

If you are a Southern Allegheny farmer and want to be involved in a Farm to Fork event in Altoona, check this out!

The Blair County Conservation District wants to host a Farm to Fork event in Altoona this fall.

It will be part of their Urban Ag and Local Food program.  They want to highlight the direct market farmers in the region and celebrate their new urban ag program.

Always in support of direct market producers, they are now providing technical support to urban farmers in Blair Co.  The goal is to help their urban neighbors grow their own food.

This program give one more platform to start a conversation about food….Good Food!!

They are looking to Southern Allegheny farmers to help supply with locally grown food for this first Farm to Fork event.

Email or call if you are interested in selling:

    • Vegetables
    • Fruit
    • Breads
    • Dairy
    • Chicken
    • Rabbit
    • Anything else that is grown, baked, or produced in the region

The event will be at the Altoona Railroad Museum and the date (tentatively) is Sept 16 and 75-100 people are expected.
