Farminars

Posted: April 24, 2017

Check out archived Farminars on our website and stay tuned for new Farminars coming your way.

PA-WAgN has been posting archived Farminars (webinars) by women farmers and agricultural professionals on our website at agsci.psu.edu/wagn/archived-farminars for a number of years. We recently posted Moie Crawford of New Morning Farm discussing how to get ready for market. There are also Farminars on ergonomics, poultry production, agritourism and more. Women farmers sharing their experiences has been a hallmark of PA-WAgN programming since the beginning. Women relate to other women and grow in self-confidence when they hear the successes of other women farmers. This is one way we can bring that connection to our members.

PA-WAgN is partnering with USDA Farm Service Agency and Natural Resources and Conservation Service on a Farminar about getting involved with local committees. Ever since the 2016 elections, women have risen up and are interested in getting involved. This is one way they can do so by joining the FSA Committee that reviews loan applications and the NRCS Technical Committee that discusses needs in local counties. USDA field staff and women farmers will discuss what the committees are, how to get involved and why to get involved. Stay tuned, it's coming soon.
