Fall 2018 opportunity for a paid internship in the weed ecology lab.

We are seeking a motivated undergraduate student willing to help with a study on weed management in organic systems. The aim of the project is to understand how cover crops influence crop - weed interaction through changing soil nutrient availability.

The experiment will take place within a large organic system experiment, the cover crop cocktails project at the Penn State Research Farm.

This is a good opportunity to learn more about weed biology, ecology and management in an organic cropping system, while being part of a large multidisciplinary systems experiment!

The work will involve going to the field, collecting weed and corn samples and processing them in the lab. Most of the field work will take place on specific days from September through November, when we will be out in the field during most of the day, and lab work will continue throughout the fall.

No prior experience is necessary, but relevant coursework and field/lab experience is helpful. The position will be paid hourly at approximately 10-15 hours per week, with field days requiring a most of the day.
