The Franklin County Conservation District (FCCD) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Ag Conservation Technician. Deadline to apply is December 5, 2017.

Qualified applicants must have a strong agricultural background with a good working knowledge of crops, soils, nutrients, animal husbandry, hydrology, land use and geography.

A Bachelor Degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Natural Sciences, Environmental Science or related subject is required. An equivalent of education, training and experience combination may qualify at the discretion of the FCCD.

The Ag Conservation Technician will be responsible for providing direct technical assistance and services to owners and operators of Franklin County farms. Duties include the administration of PA's Nutrient Management Program (Act 38) and PA's Manure Management Program (Chapter 91) as well as developing Ag Erosion and Sediment Control plans for county farmers. This position requires good verbal and written communication skills, attention to details and a good working knowledge of various computer programs.

Salary: $35,000 + pending experience and qualifications
