Don't miss ICIK's (Interinstitutional Center for Indigenous Knowledge) annual Ojibwe seminar today, Monday, September 25th, at noon.

Penn State students will describe their experiences in the Red Lake, Leech Lake and White Earth nations of northern Minnesota. Following this year's cultural engagement (CED 401) Global Health Students remained in the White Earth Nation to learn other ways of knowing about health in the Ojibwe context.

Native Myths in American Society
Monday, September 25th, 12 noon-1:30 pm
Foster Auditorium, Paterno Library

The seminar will explore the myths that have been exposed about Native peoples and their cultures in American society as Penn State students and staff describe and reflect on experiences during Community, Environment, and Development (CED) and Global Health Minor Programs here at Penn State.

Speakers will include:

  • Dana Naughton, Director, Global Health Minor
  • Craig Campbell, Assistant Professor, Lifelong Learning and Adult Education Program
  • Timothy Kelsey, Co-Director, Center for Economic and Community Development
  • Student participants of these programs.
