St. Louis, MO. The Penn State Agronomy Club recently placed second in the National Forage Bowl Competition at the American Forage and Grassland Conference in St. Louis, MO. The Penn State Team of Jim Grove, Kyle Love, Will Ziemendorf Aaron Wolfe made it to the championship round with a win over the defending champions from the University of Kentucky. However, the Kansas State team surged during the final round to derail Penn State’s dream of winning it all.

The Forage Bowl competition requires the students to identify common forage and weed species and answer questions about any aspect of forages from seed to animal health. This is all done in a competitive environment where speed in answering is crucial to winning.
