Participate in "The Emerging Global Middle Class - Threat or Opportunity" Insights Session on 4/24

Ag Sciences students are invited to attend a Smeal College of Business Executive Insights session featuring Archer Daniels Midland Company Chairman and Former CEO Patricia Woertz on April 24 from 1:25 - 2:15 p.m. in 110 Business Building.

"The Emerging Global Middle Class - Threat or Opportunity" will be featured as a Smeal Executive Insights forum on Friday, April 24. The executive presenting is Patricia Woertz, Chairman of the Board and former CEO of Archer Daniels Midland. Ms. Woertz is a Penn State alum and will provide insight on what a growing global population means for agriculture and world markets.

ABOUT MS. WOERTZ Patricia A. Woertz is chairman of the board of directors of Archer Daniels Midland Company. She joined ADM as CEO and president in April 2006, and was named chairman of the board in February 2007. She served as CEO until December 2014. During that tenure, Woertz drove efforts to improve shareholder returns while growing the business through acquisitions, capital investments and partnerships. Under her leadership, ADM strengthened its global network and grew its portfolio of higher-margin products. Ms. Woertz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from The Pennsylvania State University, which has awarded her its highest recognition for alumni.
