Agricultural Animal Industry Studies in Switzerland

AnSc499B/499C will explore United States and Swiss countries and compare animal and equine industries. The course will meet in spring semester 2016 with travel to Switzerland during Maymester 2016.

A great opportunity to study international animal agriculture and travel to Europe! AnSc499B/499C will be offered in Spring Semester 2016 with travel to Switzerland during Maymester 2016. Students will explore/compare United States and Swiss countries Agricultural Animal and Equine Industries. Topics will include breeding, training, international trade issues, agricultural trade policy, animal welfare, animal health and research, marketing, equestrian event and farm management, and companion animal breeding and training. In addition, students will visit colleges and research institutions, a veterinary school, and travel into the Alps to explore Alpine Farming. The travel will include visits to cultural locations, Medieval villages, castles, and historic venues.
