Cargill Scholarship Program

Posted: February 11, 2013

Cargill is working with the Institute of International Education (IIE) and has launched a new scholarship program to help build future potential leaders.

We are happy to inform you that Penn State is one of 13 U.S.-based universities that have been identified for this program.  As a partner university, first and second year undergraduate students who demonstrate exemplary academic achievement, leadership potential and study in a field relevant to Cargill’s world of food, agriculture and risk management are eligible to apply.

In addition to an annual scholarship award of $2,500 for up to three years, the Cargill Global Scholars Program provides leadership development opportunities through seminars, networking events, and a one-on-one mentoring program with executives from Cargill.

These enrichment activities have been designed to help foster and enhance the Cargill Global Scholars’ leadership potential and critical thinking skills, and equip them with the tools necessary for becoming global leaders and decisions makers.  In the United States 10 scholarships will be awarded during the 2012-2013 academic year.

First or second year undergraduate students specializing in any of the following areas are encouraged to apply:

Computer Science

Food Science

All Engineering Fields

Agriculture-Related Fields

Business

The application deadline is March 31, 2013 and we are currently accepting applications online, through our website.  To access the application or learn more about the Cargill Global Scholars Program please visit: http://www.cargillglobalscholars.com/
