ASI and Henning Card Access
Posted: October 27, 2016
Effective immediately, both ASI and Henning Building access is controlled by card swipe access using your Penn State ID card. Both buildings will be unlocked from 7:00am – 11:00pm, Monday thru Friday. Those individuals determined by their departmental access coordinators to need either after-hours or weekend access have been added to the system and currently have access.
Currently, existing exterior keys for both buildings (115-C1 and 116-C) will work in addition to card swipe access. In the coming weeks, these cores will be changed to eliminate those 2 keys from operation. Therefore, all building personnel are encouraged to return their building entry keys to the Keys and Parking office located in 116 Ag Administration Building (Office hours are 9:00am – 11:30am and 1:30pm – 4:00pm) Even though they will not work in the future, individuals are still responsible for returning those entry keys they were issued.
It should be noted that not all doors have card readers at them. The two exterior doors that enter into the ASI atrium (outside of Room 101 and outside of Room 115) and the main entrance to Henning facing Shortlidge Road are the only doors that have card readers. After-hours access to the buildings will need to be thru one of those three entrances. To enhance security, there are also video cameras inside and outside at each of these card reader entrances.
If you have any questions at all pertaining to the implementation of this card access system, please contact Brad Smith (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Mike Hoffman (email@example.com).
