Entomology Students and Faculty Receive Awards

Several students and faculty members have been recognized by the Entomological Society of America. Two others have recieved USDA-NIFA travel awards.

  • Elina Lastro Niño recipient of the JOHN HENRY COMSTOCK GRADUATE STUDENT AWARD- the award is given to the outstanding student in the Northeast Branch of ESA.
  • Consuelo De Moraes recipient of the ESA FELLOW- which acknowledges outstanding contributions to entomology
  • John Tooker recipient of the EARLY CAREER INNOVATION AWARD­ "This award, which is sponsored by BASF, honors young professionals working within the field of entomology who have demonstrated innovation through contributions within any area of specialization".
  • Maggie Douglas recipient of a 2013 ENTOMOLOGY STUDENT TRAVEL GRANT sponsored by USDA-NIFA
  • Loren Rivera Vega recipient of a 2013 ENTOMOLOGY STUDENT TRAVEL GRANT sponsored by USDA-NIFA
