Penn State Hosts Regional Microbiology Meeting

Penn State will be hosting the annual meeting of the Allegheny Branch of the American Society for Microbiology on November 9th and 10th.

The meeting will be co-organized by Dr. Mary Ann Bruns, of the Ecosystem Science and Management Department, and  Alyssa Bumbaugh from the Eberly College of Science Forensic Science Program. Members of the Allegheny Branch of the American Society for Microbiology (ABASM) are microbiology practitioners, faculty, and students from more than 20 institutions in Western PA and West Virginia.

On Friday, Nov 9. In the Food Science Building, Dr. John Lennox, Professor Emeritus Penn State-Altoona, will give two workshops on microbial biofilms. The workshops will demonstrate accessible, hands-on teaching activities on biofilms for microbiology educators and students. The meeting, which will host 80 attendees, will continue on Friday evening and Saturday at the Days Inn in downtown State College.
