Two teams presenting their work as a course project from BRS 502 Human Behavior in Management & Technology. Host: Agricultural and Biological Engineering.

For almost a decade, Volkswagen was able to cheat its competitors, customers, and even the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency into thinking that their “clean diesel” vehicles were not only compliant with emissions standards, but went above and beyond these standards. In 2015, everything changed when discrepancies in NOx emissions where found during a road test of two Volkswagen cars. Initial reports of rouge engineers programing the vehicles to cheat emissions tests quickly revealed a deeper scheme within Volkswagen, with outside company involvement as well. The presentation will untangle the complexity of this ethical violation, dubbed “dieselgate,” and propose a management-based solution that could have prevented this incident.

The second seminar is "FIFA Scandal, 2015" by Billy Clees, Katie Hayden, and Hisaaki Ishihara
