Policymakers from Bangladesh, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan toured facilities in the Department of Food Science and heard presentations from faculty members about research and educational programs to enhance food safety at the farm,  processing, distribution and consumer levels. The delegates were invited under the auspices of the U.S. Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program, and their itinerary was arranged by the Academy for Educational Development.

The goal was to provide information and knowledge that can inform food-safety, food-security and public-health policies in the visitors' respective countries.
