A Lifetime of Commitment

A new cohort of exceptional individuals was inducted into the Armsby Honor Society during a ceremony held on October 31, 2014, at The Nittany Lion Inn. The society honors alumni and friends who have demonstrated a commitment to the College of Agricultural Sciences.

This year’s inductees included A. David Carroll Jr. ’71 Plant Science, ’73 M.S. Plant Pathology. Carroll—the president of several companies in Berks County, including Giorgio Mushroom Company, Giorgi Fresh Company, Ontelaunee Farms Inc., and Donna Fella Farms Inc.—joins the society as a 2013 Outstanding Alumni Award recipient.

H. Louis Moore ’52, ’56 M.S. Agricultural Economics, professor emeritus of agricultural economics at Penn State, also joins the society as a 2013 Outstanding Alumni Award recipient.

Thomas H. Yorke ’64, ’67 M.S. Forestry—a consulting hydrologist for federal, state, and regional agencies and organizations involved in surface-water management issues—joins the society as a retired Ag Alumni Society board member.
