Ag IT is in the early stages of planning the upgrade of SharePoint to version 2013, migrating it to a new server and changing the way you will authenticate (log in). There is still much planning to be done, but there are steps that you can take now to help smooth the transition.

There are entire industries dedicated to compromising the security of your computer and its data. Some want your identity, others want your credit cards, a few may want your research, still others want to use your computer for illicit purposes and some seem to be just plain mean. While Penn State and the College of Ag have instituted many safeguards to protect you and the University, the threat remains high and sometimes a computer does become compromised.

IBM Endpoint Manager allows AG IT to deploy software applications and updates in a timely and convenient manner to College of Ag Sciences computers. This no-cost University Service can be used by University units but the expectation is that energy savings will defray the costs of the service. It was once estimated that we can help save Penn State over $800,000 annually and, at the same time, feel good about reducing our carbon footprint!

The College of Ag Sciences Web Services team recently made some changes to the format of College websites. These changes have enhanced the consistency of all Penn State related sites. Some users have experienced a few issues with the layout of some pages since the update, but those issues can easily be fixed by clearing your web browser cache.
