Ag IT is beginning to migrate all existing Ag managed email lists to the Penn State list service.

Our College depends on centralized email distribution lists, often referred to as listservs, to efficiently communicate with large groups of people. Many, but not all, of the College email lists are managed by Ag IT and hosted from our email list server. Penn State also offers a service for hosting email lists, which we also use for many lists.

With our list server hardware and software aging, Ag IT feels that moving exclusively to the Penn State service will provide more reliable and consistent service to our users. Over the next few months we will be working with counties, departments, student clubs, educator associations, institutes and administrators to migrate Ag managed email lists to the Penn State service. We hope to automate the migration process, making the transition as seamless as possible to our users. Unfortunately, the naming convention for Penn State managed lists is different from our existing naming convention and therefore, list email addresses will need to change.

When the time comes for the migration of lists that you may belong to or manage, you will be provided detailed instructions on how to use your newly migrated list.
